The Fund for Innovation in Cancer Informatics uses a three-step application process:

Step 1:
Fill out the online form.

Be prepared to provide the following information:

  • Project Title and Brief Description 
  • Principal Investigators (2), Name and Contact information
  • Applying organization information, TAX ID/EIN, IRS Designation and Grant Office contact name and information

In two pages or less, please answer the following questions:

  • What problem do you intend to solve?
  • Why does the solution matter?
  • How are you innovating relative to current methods and practice?

Include the following using a bullet-list format:

  • Project plan
    • Computational tools and data
    • Assessment of performance
    • Deliverables
    • Implementation
  • Impact
    • Who benefits, by how much, and how are you measuring the benefits?
    • Expected changes in clinical care practice
  • Dissemination
    • Proactive dissemination to other institutions and researchers
    • Transfer to clinical practice
  • Team
    • Your team
    • Computational and clinical expertise
    • Preliminary work

Format:

  • Up to 2 pages, plus one optional conceptual figure on a separate page
  • References and biosketches separate
  • Please use 11-12 pt font, 1” margins, section titles, and breaks between sections.
