Cancer Qiita: An AI-Ready Scalable Cancer Microbiome Database for On-Demand Meta-analysis and Drug Discovery
Despite the wealth of publicly available cancer microbiome data, sequence data and patient metadata are not unified and therefore not AI-ready. To fill this critical gap and leverage cancer microbiome data of tumors and other tissue sites across a wide range of cancers across the globe, we propose Cancer AIM. The main objective of this proposal will be to provide researchers with a unified data environment where cancer microbiome sequence data is harmonized with patient-level metadata for on-demand meta-analyses and exploration. The field is in critical need of such a resource, particularly for clinicians who are exploring potential therapies that target the microbiome.
